Izzy (Snap and Dodger 2010) is a trained cadaver dog and recently played a key role in the arrest and conviction of Mark Bucki in the murder of his wife, Anita. Because she was found at a different location two weeks later and he had spent an entire day cleaning up before reporting her missing, Izzy's ability to locate the odor of human decomposition in key locations was important for the prosecution.
The jury deliberating whether Mark Bucki is guilty or not-guilty has called it a day. They're set to...

Carole,
Sorry it took me so long to write but I am all paws and needed some help. Boy have things been busy for me! I think things are going well for me in my new home. I have 2 brothers and 2 kids and I sure do have a blast with them. It took me time to get used to things.
Mom took me to work with her until I was old enough to go to work in the police car with dad and Tazer (sooo cool!). Dad has been teaching me obedience, tracking, article searches, building searches and I can even find Marijuana now (pretty proud of that). I got to go to NAPCH Nationals in Alpena, there were a lot of other dogs there, dad said I did REALLY good for my age.
I heard dad talking to another K9 handler about school in March. Sounds like I will be in training for at least a month, should be a great time. I will keep you posted.
Yours,
Vader

Hello!
I just wanted to let you know that my pup is doing great. He is little hyper but great with my son and rest of the family. I named him "Cash" and he has turned out to be a beautiful black brindle.
He makes heads turn when out in public. In fact I have had a doctor offer me money to buy him, but not for sale of course. I will send you pics soon. Thanks for a great dog!

Subject: Ruger (Snap-Lothar 3/6/13)
I just wanted to share a picture of Ruger at 6 months old. He just finished his second level of obedience and starts level III next week.
He's full of personality, usually waking up to find his ball before he even pees and making us take the ball or toy from his sleeping mouth at night so he doesn't accidentally choke on it.
We couldn't be happier we chose this breed and get compliments and comments on him wherever we take him. In fact his instructor said he's one of the smartest dogs she'd trained in a while so that's nice to hear. It's also nice to be the one in class not wrestling to get their dog under control as Ruger watches the owners and dogs struggle with a tilted head like 'what's wrong with them?' In fact one picture I sent you was while he was doing his 5-minute down and stay and he was the only one in class that could do it past three minutes. He would have done it longer had mom not released him. :-)
I wish I could take credit for him being the smart one, but that's due to breeding so you gals get full credit.
We tease him by calling him cat/dog because he has a sleek feline figure. Then he jumps 6 feet high to catch a ball to remind us he isn't a damn cat. LOL

Here is a picture of Indy (now 2 years old) with my youngest daughter, Anneke. Both are waiting patiently on the local three-day event cross-country course, Copper Meadows in Ramona -- for big sister Lexie who was schooling the course.
Indy has turned out to be a fabulous and beautiful dog that travels with me all day long while I make veterinary ranch calls.
She is friendly to people and all animals (even chickens and Turkeys). Indy is easy off-leash -- great recalls and down stays.
She is a big part of our family! At home she lives with a 9lb JRT and an 11lb cat -- as well as the human family!

A True Working Dog Is Gone
Good bye, Nick. You were as much a part of our business as I am, and sometimes more. You tolerated long hours in the car, airplane rides, and extremes in temps, just to bite me. You won the K-9 Pro Sports championship in Texas, even if it was stolen from you. You won the DSO in grand style.
You tried everything that your owner ever asked you to do, and you did it as a true German Shepherd would. You were the gentlest of dogs with children, yet the biggest f**k when doing bite work. You made me bleed more than any other dog I know, and you enjoyed it even more when you did. You worked in all situations, in every environment, for any reason.
You were tolerant of your new society, and I hope you enjoyed your short time in the country with us. A true companion, right until the end, you walked into the Vet's office heeling off leash with your mom to your final sleep. Cancer is such a horrible adversary, my friend, and even you couldn't knock it down this one last time. Sleep well, you've certainly earned it.

Subject: Puppy (Rooney Update)
Hi Cheryl,
I wanted to just give you an update on how Rooney is doing. He is great and loves playing with my 13 year lab. I have been taking him to a creek by my house and introducing him to the water for his future dock diving adventures. He took to the water like he was a lab. He has been swimming ever since. This weekend was awesome because I took him to my friend’s pool for the first time and called him in the water. He was reluctant at first and just ran around the pool and barked because he couldn't get to me. Then on his first jump he dove into the pool like he has been doing it for years. I am pumped for our first dock diving competition whenever that might be. He is an amazing dog. I am still working on getting him to retrieve the ball and sticks to me from the water but I'm sure that will come as he gets older. Please feel free to offer any advice on how to train him to retrieve and bring the ball back to me?
Here is a compliment to you guys. I have been going to a local trainer and he has a 2 year old Belgian and just got three 14 week old Belgian puppies last week. When I came in for training last week we both compared Rooney to his three pups and I couldn't believe the difference. Rooney was just as tall but his body stature and overall look was just night and day compared to those dogs. He looked bigger and better proportioned than all three of the other pups. It was very noticeable. Even the trainer has asked me several times where I got him and stated that this a great looking dog. Every time I go to training he tells me I have a great looking dog. So I'm not sure what you guys are doing but it works. This dog has been everything I have hoped for. He gets compliments everywhere we go how good looking he is. I'm not really a big picture taker but I will try to send you some along the way.
Thanks,

Well when I opened the patient up, both pieces where intact so I put the squeaker back together with a little glue this time and sewed it back up. Heidi was excited to hear her toy again and now she won't let it get too far away from her!Dogs are funny!

They play hard and Barry lets him know when he gets out of line. Tazer goes with me daily in the cruiser and has met lots of people and has experienced several types of floors and textures. I have attached some pictures and will send more in the future.

Subject: Squirrels Beware
Cheryl,
Squirrels I am afraid, stand no chance against the speed and agility of your Dutch Shepherds! These are not old, decrepit little creatures. They appear quite robust!
My kids have attested to Heidi's speed. She IS that fast!! We lost a fourth squirrel. Apparently this one was in the field and off she went. My bad though-she left the property ;( If I had been out there, she would have stopped when I call her. I am very happy that she sticks with the kids when they are out in the yard or woods - although she is like a kid and there is even sibling rivalry that includes her! She LOVES to bug them! All my life each of my dogs have chased squirrels, but never thought they could be caught!
Friends of ours will be so jealous. They have a squirrel problem.
Take care,

Hi Cheryl,
We wanted to send a quick pic of how Heidi is doing. She helps us girls out number the boys!
Lily is 7 I/2 mos and she is by far the best pack leader! Heidi does excellent around her for a 9 month puppy! We couldn't be more pleased. Vivian (2 1/2) absolutely loves her. Although, she has taught Heidi to chase her thru the house ( :O) which causes squealing and basic mayhem!
She seems to have Rush's face at times but her body is very Touche'. Everyone who meets her thinks she is the coolest looking dog!
Happy New Year!

Subject: Great Meeting you & your "Family" today
Cheryl,
I want to thank-you for letting me & my sister Nelda come out & visit your wonderful Kennel earlier today. We enjoyed the ride out there & were much impressed by all your "Family" ...including the humans!LOL!!
When we first arrived, Lori made us feel very welcome, & introduced us to her Dutch Shepherds. All very friendly (they really do like those balls, don't they?).We learned so much about you & your kennels by just having a good conversation about dogs & observing the interactions taking place between all of you...very nice & gratifying to see!We enjoyed meeting both Ela & Nicky (hopefully the parents to our next pup); what beautiful & well behaved dogs they were (again...they really do like their chew toys, don't they?).Nicky was quite impressive in his protection of Carole. What a great demonstration of how an intelligent dog can be trained to protect his human.Again, very impressive!
I really can't say enough at how impressed we both were.We want to thank-you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to introduce us to your dogs & answer all of our questions so thoroughly.I will be checking out your Web site to see when Ela has her pups.I'm definitely looking forward to that!
Take care & be sure to thank Lori & Carole for their time.I look forward to coming out to observe the August 1st demonstrations & also to the future talks/meetings we'll have about purchasing a pup from you.

Just an update for you! We got our dog Lexi from Cheryl in 2008, one of Gamble and Shelby's pups. She is now 9 months old and the best dog ever! We will have to get some pics to you soon, Cheryl, she looks just like her mom, but is built more like her dad. This dog has the best temperament ever, she is playful, smart, energetic, and just plain beautiful. We often check back on your website just to see the new pups being born. Like I said before, I can highly recommend Cheryl's dogs to anyone. We wouldn't trade Lexi for the world! Thanks again for this wonderful addition to our family!

Cheryl,
I just wanted to send you some photos of the generations of Dogs (great dogs I might add) that I have gotten from your kennel. We have taken them with us no matter where we go, whether it is visiting and staying in Hotels or relative’s houses. They have never caused any problems. People have always commented on how well behaved they are.
But the best thing and the most fun for our dogs is the camping and trail riding that we do. These pictures are of all of the dogs at different camping trips... They have been the best EVER!
The last one is of our Sebastion (your Sebastian's son) who was 13 years old in the picture trail riding with us. Please don't ever stop raising German Shepherds because I will have no where else to get them as I will never ever buy another one from any other breeder again.
I sincerely Thank You for your knowledge of the breed and doing a fine job producing only the BEST!!!
I just wanted to send you a hello and let you know Hans is doing great here. We were worried at first but he is great. He has done a 360 turn he is not so cranky anymore. His motto if I get a cookie I am good to go. We got him a friend and he is very happy. She is a little dog not sure what type but she is sweet. We got her for free she survived distemper at three months old. Puppy mills are big business here - it is really sad. She has two side effects; she as little to no teeth and she has a twitch.
He is doing great thanks again for taking care of him for us.We get stopped by the MP's all the time they want to know where we got him. There are not many big dogs here in Korea so he gets a lot of looks. We have no cats anymore around our apt he has seen to that himself.

Hi, Cheryl,
"Ruger" is doing extremely well. What an extremely intelligent and well-intentioned dog he is!He has been doing the full spectrum of puppy experiments throughout the yard, with some of the usual accidental destructiveness, but has been great fun and is much loved.
You should see him race up and down the spiral staircase to our upstairs deck!He ventured up there by himself, following one of his newfound feline friends, and had to be coaxed to start back down, but quickly mastered the descent. He also likes to redistribute the firewood pile!
Thanks and best wishes--

Subject: Joey
Hello Cheryl,
Attached is a photo of my buddy Joey, we got him from you in 1997 he's A1A ear marked from Legacy/Andromeda.I drove up with my two young sons to pick him up as a pup.He has been a whale of a dog. He's starting to break down with little drive strength left in the rear and a little wobble up front, but he hasn't laid down yet and still follows me around the farm and in the woods.I needed a farm dog with some horsepower and he certainly has been all that and more.In his prime there probably have not been too many of your dogs in the same shape as Joey between running around the farm or swimming with the kids.Tireless, absolutely tireless.
My pal Russ Moore got us all on the same page initially for training which helped. My only real requirement was for him to come when called and Joey always does that unless he has a major distraction like vermin.Once he goes off on one of them, well he doesn't stop until it is dead.
Joey's purpose which did not take him long to figure out was to keep vermin and stray dogs away from our chickens.Stray dogs he would force to leave the property. He had a little problem with one stray dog in excess of 130 lbs.I'm not sure Joey could have handled that dog had he not been in way better shape.I had to augment Joey's efforts with my pellet gun however, which was fine.He absolutely will not hurt a bird.
I raise bobwhite quail also and they can walk between his legs and he does not care.Once a neighbor had a guinea that strayed over here, it was interesting watching him look at that bird.He knew it shouldn't be on the Farm but he wouldn't hurt it either because it was a bird.
He's always been about 65 lbs, lean machine.Low maintenance, no health issues, outside all the time.Great with people. He stays in the kennel when friends bring their pets.I've had no interest in training him to socialize with other dogs.
How about Cher Car's Ruger Magnum? This is a wonderful dog (you knew that!) Smart, happy, confident; very comfortable in his skin. He is settling in very quickly, and we like him a lot. He has met the "boss cat," and was rather intimidated by him. Now they have an understanding. He likes the big yard, inspected the doghouse, and has claimed a spot on the porch by the door. We had him in the house for a while, and his manners were very good. He's a quick study! Thank you very much for raising such wonderful dogs and sharing them with others.

Testimonial (as seen on Working Dog's Forum)
"My husband and I got a Dutch Shepherd from Cher Car Kennels in St. John, Michigan. Cheryl Carlson is the owner and she is an excellent breeder. She breeds GSD's, Belgian Malinois' and Dutch Shepherds. This is our first Dutchie and Cheryl worked with us, emailing back and forth and fielding numerous phone calls from us for about a year, before we picked our pup. She knew exactly what we wanted in a pup/dog and went above and beyond to help us get what we were looking for. We even spent a full day with her out in the field while she was doing work with the dogs. We got to see both parents do their work for the day, it was amazing. She is very selective about who takes her dogs and potential owners will go through an extensive interview process - and she is very up front with people, no b/s here, and believes in full disclosure, she will go over every little thing and ensure that you are fully aware of what you are getting. Great breeder, will not go any where else as long is she is in the business."

Ladies:
It is with the greatest pleasure that I send this email. My wife and I bought a Jack Russell from you back in 2002.Her name is "Dixie on my Mind." Dixie, for short. (tattoo I-3).She has been and continues to be the greatest family member we have. What a great demeanor. While in Lansing, I attended law school. Now, back in my native home of Georgia, I practice law.Dixie has been by our side every day.She seems to take after her dad, eating popcorn, piece by piece. My wife and I have a 2 1/2 year old and one on the way.Dixie has been so good around the baby, despite not having the full attention of Erin and I.
As an avid hunter, Dixie has proven herself again and again. She can go from playing with our two year old son, to hunting squirrels, without any problems. As to competitions, we have achieved several titles in Earth Dog competitions.Let's just say, she has no problem showing everyone else, including Judges, people, and other participants, where the rat is!Let me tell you, her greatest hobby is swimming. She loves to swim around a pool, lake, or the ocean. We have carried her along with us on our check out dives for open water diving, and she loves being in the water.
We want to thank you for doing such a good job with what you do.The quality of your product, if I can be so removed, is top class.Dixie is the greatest, and has always been there for us.
Quite ironically, my wife now works with a breeder that shows at Eukanuba.Dixie has been a model dog, easily out performing her litters.
Once again, thanks. You produced one helluva a dog.And from the land of DAWGS (University of Georgia…just ask those Spartys), we know dogs! However, for being a “Yankee” dog (as my Dad doesn’t let me forget [he has my old Jack Russell prior to law school]), she still does not like the cold weather!
Please continue to maintain the quality that you provided us.We look forward to visiting your new place and buying a new jack for the new baby, when yÂ’all have new puppies ready.
Thank you so much.Let us know if you would like a few pics.We have plenty. When y’all get a chance, come see us.

I am still working Rommel, even though his job has changed many times. He was certified as a police K9 and now as a search and rescue/HRD dog. He is 8 but still loves to work. I am honored you have a picture of him on your site, as an example of a man stopper. I now live where there are no protection comps or training, and miss it a lot. Rommel especially misses Brad. LOL. I am looking for a female that would compliment Rommel, in one last future breeding, and to be my next partner on the SAR team. Do you have anything that fits the bill? You know she will get worked. I have a Rommel son, but he is all business, and doesn’t play nice with the victims when we find them, so he won’t work for me in SAR. Hope all is well with you, and your health is 100%, as I monitor your site from time to time, to check up on old friends. A lot of dogs would of thought “Wheee - lets run the neighborhood”, but Jake was very concerned and when I closed it he went right back to bed. He loves the snow and is so much fun to live with although I think he needs more to do! Mark Driesenga

Hi Carole!
I have attached some new pics of our pup “Nico” (Rush x Touché). He is coming along nicely and is really turning out to be a fantastic dog!!! We live in a development (yikes) which is filled with the "other dog" people who are amazed when their adult golden retriever "sits".Nico at 5 1/2 months of age, has a large bank of commands that he recognizes and adheres to, and he is just wowing the masses of yukamuks. Of course, never having had a dog of this caliber we ran into some issues that warranted more than the help of our local trainer and after many calls to the "Cheryl Hotline" we have addressed other minor issues. People are always amazed at how "well-behaved" Nico is and he continues to impress us as well. Guess that's what happens when you get a puppy from kick-ass parents!!
Anyway, we are getting some agility equipment soon, just to help him get started, he will have pre-agility classes coming up in a few months, but the other night I called him and he came running....and then jumped flawlessly over the back of the couch. A solid 3 feet. So I thought ok, maybe its time to give the guy some agility equipment. :-)
Very new and very exciting. Have a great day!

Cheryl,
I thought I would drop you a note to let you know how things are going. I have decided on the name of Elsa Grietje van Cher Car (noble little girl from the house of Cher Car). She is doing wonderful! On the way home we stopped at a wayside rest just before Escanaba. Elsa played in the water for about an hour and really enjoyed it. She was the perfect little lady riding in the car. Never heard a word from her and no accidents in her crate. She has found a new respect for cats! My cat growled at her, hisssed, bit at her and then proceeded to swat her in the face (no claws though). Now she will just walk over and look at him but not get to close. My other dog is not to fond of her. He has growled at her a couple of times to let her know. Although when he is laying on his bed, she will go over with a toy and lay on it with him. I think that because she is a puppy and gets in his face, that it bothers him but it will be ok when he gets use to her being around. She also found out that she is not a fan of coffee. She will steer clear of my cup. She decided to sneak a drink out of it right after I had poured it and it was hot. She now knows the meaning of HOT! I don't think that the fireworks are going to be an issue. She heard some outside when we were playing and she just looked and continued on to get her ball. Of course my other dog ran for the house.
I am so happy to have her. She is beautiful and very smart! I want to thank you for everything! I will keep in touch and make sure to send you some pictures.
Thank-you again, Kay Schmidt

Glenna Logan writes of the passing of her beloved Belgian Sheepdog “Wyatt”:
We lost Wyatt on Feb. 29, 2008 to a rare liver disease, Hepatocutaneous Syndrome, diagnosed June 2007. He was my first protection-trained dog, protection-titled dog, first obedience High-in-Trial dog, first agility dog, and first dog that needed a trophy case. Wyatt also had a few breed “firsts” and a few breed “only’s”.
He was a lot of dog and a hard act to follow. Most of all, he was my best friend and made me feel safe.
Glenna
Dear Glenna,
A sad day, when he went... as I've told you, some times we teach dogs, and sometimes, they teach us... he was a glorious dog to work with, a challenge, and a rare example of that most sacred of dog/human bonds.. a dog that would overcome his own fears to defend you, a dog who KNEW when it was real, a dog that NEVER let me, his club, and most importantly, his mom, down. He NEVER worked for himself in the bitework... he was not insanely driven, he was not bite crazy... he was a good, solid, defensive dog, and was that way until he died... a rare dog indeed.

Subject: Sarge's newest title
Yahoo!!!!He did it.
Feb 2 at the trial at Smack Dab's in Warrenville Illinois Sarge (Chloe x Timber) earned his last leg for his UGRACH.I only have three pictures of him.(I messed the camera up) and they are attached.I also have a GRACH pole that was made for Sarge that you all have to sign.Please....
It was great.Of course the first run in AG1 he got a 200 and I thought that we had it made, well guess what .......trial two he was running his own course. The judge even said that.He jumped out of the ring where we were sitting.Well you know the story,'He's never done that before.'He was just fine for the rest of the day and we were successful in AG2 and AG3 in trial 1.
We had a qualifying run on Sunday, just in case I messed up on the number of legs that we needed for the title.
On another note, Sarge made it in the All Stars for all three levels.AG1 was a really big surprise to me.The last trial in December put him there. We made it by 2 points. But, I'll take it.
See you soon.
Dana and UGRACH Sarge.

I would greatly appreciate you advice. I have had GS all my life and have raised a few litters. This is the first litter I have had in 15 yrs and I thought I had seen just about every color combination but I thought I had a faded solid black German Shepherd pup but when I compare the pictures to the solid blue pup I believe this is what I have. His color seems to be fading the older he gets.He is 8wks. I was told by a vet many yrs ago that you did not want a blue in any color because they had to be inbred and would not make a good (smart) dog. This pup seems to be very smart and beautiful. My son wants to keep one we only had 4 so we are considering this one. If you have time I would greatly appreciate you opinion. Thank you so much

I didn't know about your web site until I was at a family outing this past weekend and Gene Fullerton knew about you and his brother has worked with Karen and trains K9. Of course, I showed off my pup, Anuibis (Bart puppy) and the conversation just went from there. Sure made the family outing a lot more interesting! Ha Ha. So first thing this morning I checked your web site out and found it very interesting and learned a lot more about Cher Car Kennels. I found the web site very informative. I had read some things about vaccinosis from another web site and wonder if that is what happened to my last dog, Thor, who developed cancer and had to be put down. Therefore, I've hesitated on getting anything beyond the 2 puppy vaccinations. I look forward to working with you and your team in developing Anubis' potential and mine as his mom.

Hi Cheryl We have not met yet, but hopefully soon! (planning on purchasing a pup) I have been searching for the last 4.5 months for a shepherd. For whatever reasons (poor breeding) I have not been able to fulfill my dream of finding the perfect one. This past weekend I received a call from a very good friend who is also in the training business, she is someone I strongly respect and it is because of her love for the breed that I have been not yet purchased one. As I said, I got this call on Saturday, (just after some show that you both attended) my friend (Suzanne @ leapsandbound training) called to say, I found the perfect puppies for you. She was so excited for me that she couldn’t wait till she got home to (Canada) to share this info. She was very impressed and the fact that I am just a dog lover, not really familiar with all the breeding/lines/titles and whatever else there is, she said that your love for your dogs and your knowledge and the fact that they are gorgeous and the time you put into them was very impressive. She strongly recommends that I stop my search and purchase one from you! This comes from someone that told me don’t buy just because they are cute; you need to know what’s behind the breed so with that I guess I will be making a trip to the states. I am so very excited, can’t wait to meet you and see our new member of the family! Marie

Hello to all at Cher Car Kennels,
We purchased Harley in June of 2002. (Tattoo #G1R). Before I go any further I wanted to make aware of the brag page I read recently from the proud family of "Jake" from Wyoming. I was so happy to acknowledge that "Jake" was from the same litter as our Harley. And by the sounds of their brag page, Harley and Jake are DEFINITELY brothers. Best of wishes to Jake (and Ben too) and his family J
Harley is without a doubt, one of the best purchases we will ever make. Harley is such a wonderful dog, we love him so much, thank you Cheryl and Cher Car Kennels for all the love you have given us. Here is a little update on our Harley!!
Here are some of Harley's loves: going bye-bye, eating yum yums (vanilla ice-cream), playing ball, giving kisses, running through the woods with Dad and cuddling at night with me (mom), getting vacuumed, rubbed, and loved, water sprinklers, kiddy pools, ponds, and lakes, his sheep skin rug, his babies (stuffed dogs), Coco and Dakota (those knuckle heads that live with gramma) rolling in the snow, moms singing (believe it or not), and anything that has to do with "showing off" and pleasing mom and dad.
Here are some of Harley's dislikes: the un-catchable squirrels, the fast -as- fast- can- be rabbits, smelly black and white kitty's (skunks!), and the boredom when momma and dad go to work. Sooooo since we cant do much about the little critters running around outside teasing him, we decided to concur the boredom. As of Saturday, we now have a little addition on the way from Timber and Julie. She was born on January 18, and we can bring her home on March 11. We are sooooo excited. Harley will be in heaven. He will love his little sister and take good care of her.
We will send pictures of the kids in a few months.
Until then, take care. And thank you Cher Car Kennels !!!!

Hi Cheryl.... I hope you remember me. My husband, who is a Wyoming Police Officer, David, and I bought a German Shepherd pup from you back in June of 2002. I've been meaning to write you for oh, over 2 years now, and am finally doing it.
"Jake" is SUCH an incredible dog. He has an amazing personality and is the sweetest, most gentle dog we've ever known. He loves NOTHING more than for us to go in the backyard and play football with him. I keep saying that if there was a football camp for dogs, we'd send him in a minute. He's quite an amazing athlete!! He sleeps on the couch in front of the window and "watches" for a good part of the night. If we try and get him to sleep with us...he gets really nervous and you can tell he wants to go downstairs to guard the house. He's a MAJOR talker too! He'll talk to you all day if he could. He's even made a talker out of his Golden Retriever brother, Ben.
We had a baby two years ago (and another one on the way) and Jake is always so gentle with Brendan. And he puts up with a LOT....tail pulling, ear pulling, etc. Jake takes it all in stride and when he's had enough he just gives us a look like "please help me."
Anyway, we can't say enough wonderful things about him and can't even bear to think about life without him. Gosh, he's really just the best dog!! Take care and I hope all is going well for you!!! P.S. His parents were Timber and Gillette. The tattoo in his ear is G3R. (Just so you know what dog he is).

Here is the latest on Brutus: My parents and Brutus have firmly bonded!! The eight-hour trip home was a dream. He rides better than most adults.
He has adjusted to farm life quickly, he has a large area to run and bury his treats!! Brutus knows that the sound of tractors means the possibility of going bye-bye! He has learned about going with Mom to visit Dad planting corn in the field.
During the day Brutus is a king on his throne. He prefers to sit on the west porch, where action is. At night Brutus sleeps on a large soft bed, listening to soft music.
We thank Cher Car Kennels for a healthy & intelligent guard dog. Brutus is a wonderful addition to the Muessman family. Thank you, Cheryl, for your time and assistance. We are thankful for Cheryl and Brutus.

I just had to put my two cent in also. I purchase two mal pups from Cher Car Kennels. One two years ago, and the other in January of this year. One is named Stryker and I competed with him in K-9 Pro Sports when he turned one. He started out good. Stryker came to win second place in the Championship last year and second year round Champ. Just in August we move up to the pro level in Texas and Arkansas and won! I am so pleased with him. My other mal named Memphis is up and coming. She is on his heels. If you're looking for a Malinois call Cheryl Carlson and tell her Donald sent you. Out of Memphis

Cheryl, Well, I am done with ring trials for the season. We have started Ruckus's training for Ring II along with some Ring III exercises like the basket, jumps and retrieves. I am also working on some other titles that have nothing to do with ring. Today I got him his CGC and will hopefully soon get his TDI and TT (if I can find where it is being done). We are also thinking of going for some obedience titles. I just want to stay active with him and keep getting all of the titles and certificates that I can. I just wanted to keep you updated. Thank You, Ramon - 9/2004

I met a gal named Dehlia Seim up in Grand Marais Minnesota, who was walking her new German Shepard puppy she stated that her father, Douglas Seim had just purchased from you folks, and BOY, did she ever have great things to say about your kennels! I work for the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department in St. PaulMN, and am interested in purchasing a male German Shepard puppy from you folks. I have just gotten married at 53 years old, Chris, my wife is same age. We live in a Townhouse in Eagan Mn, but are planning to purchase a single family home in the near future with a large yard. I have owned several Shepherds in the past, but was looking for an excellent breeder who cared for their dogs as much as I did, and have not found that in this area, until I heard about you folks. I have a New Vet facility across the street from me, and who love to learn more about your Shepherds and possibly purchase one in the near future. Many of the Sheriff's handlers have told me what to look for in a family Shepard/Home protection. Dehlia told me that she wanted a male for intelligence, confident. Thank you, Gary Wilzbacher

My husband and I purchased a German Shepherd from Cher-Car kennels in 1995. He grew to be a most beautiful dog, not only in looks but in heart, spirit & soul. He turned out to be just as Cheryl promised and more. Gentle, yet protective. Though I no longer have the honor of this gentle giant as part of my family...(he passed away in May 2003, for reasons unknown by his vet, but very likely due to stress from his owner passing away 2 weeks earlier ) he will forever remain in my heart as one of the most loyal friends I have ever had. My hats off to you Cheryl, as a person who shows great love and devotion to such a beautiful breed of dogs. I thank you for connecting "Joey" with me.

Bought a german shepherd puppy from you back in 1997. I can't tell you the joy that he has brought to us. Everything about him is wonderful, he has the most marvelous disposition I've ever seen (although I think he thinks he was born with a ball in his mouth - he loves to play ball). Every day since we've had him we are thankful for him and his companionship. Thank you for the work you put into breeding the dogs that you do.
Hi Cheryl: What a great site!! I heard about you long ago & we had had contacts way before the Dog Sports venture. I bought my boy ARGO from you. Great canine in all ways. I have seen a couple other canines that came from you. You put out very top notch dogs!! You are one, that when I can, I direct people to contact you to get a real sincere & top quality dog. I see some dogs being sold, that are not anywhere near what they should be. So, you keep up the great job you are doing for all canines coming out on the streets.

Cheryl,
Hi. My name is Shelly Jones. I hope you may remember my sister, Jen and I (our names were both Alfredson then), although its been awhile since we last spoke. Jen purchased and trained a puppy from you when your kennel was at the Mt. Hope Rd. location. The puppy was from Zodiac and she named him Enzo.
Enzo is doing really great. I'm married now and live in Owosso, but Jen still lives in the Lansing area with Enzo.Enzo is truly a constant joy to Jen. His excellent breeding and all that training has made him truly the best dog she (or I, briefly) have ever had. He's a wonderful companion and still a "Monster" guard dog. Last summer he not only stopped a thief from breaking into Jen's car in her own driveway, but then led the police right to the guy after he fled and hid a nearby wooded area!!
Anyway, Enzo is 4.5 years old now and HUGE. He's a lean machine at 30" at the shoulder and 105 lbs. Jen had him pre-limed at 2 for his OFA cert. and though she never got him certified, his preliminary was OFA excellent. He's a healthy, happy dog.
I'm thinking about surprising Jen in the spring with a new puppy. I can't think of any better place to buy one than Cher-Car Kennels. She's so happy with Enzo, I was hoping maybe you could recommend another good match (of course I'd bring Jen with me to pick out any puppy).
Thanks a lot, Shelly Jones

I got one of your pups in 1995 and it was the most wonderful, intelligent, family dog I ever owned. He was happy-go-lucky and mellow, yet a great natural protector. I just lost him last week due to heart disease. I'm heartbroken and hope to connect with you to get another pup. I'm so glad to find you on the web so I can view the dogs and read about what you and your animals are up to. Thank you
I purchased a drug dog from Cheryl approximately 1 year ago, "Potter" a Black Lab is a tremendous worker. I commend Cheryl on offering police departments quality work dogs. Thanks Again, and keep up the good work.
